Privacy, in plain English.
What this website collects, who else sees it, and how to make us delete it. There is no analytics here, so the answer is shorter than you expect.

The short version
We collect what you type into a form on this site, and nothing else. There is no analytics on this website: no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no tracking of any kind. We do not sell anything to anybody, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you asked us a question.
Who is responsible for your information
Velocity Studio is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at [email protected] about anything on this page, including a request to see, correct or delete what we hold.
What we collect, and when
- When you send an enquiry
- The contact form, the quote builder and the package enquiry form each ask for your name and email address, and let you tell us about your business and what you are looking for. The quote builder also sends the services you picked, so we can reply about the right thing. We receive only what you typed.
- When you load a page
- Our server records the usual things a web server records: the address of the page, the time, your browser type and your IP address. These logs exist so we can see that the site is working and spot abuse. They are not joined up to anything about you and they are not used to build a profile.
- What we do not collect
- We do not use analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies. We do not know which pages you visited, how long you stayed or where you came from.
Why we are allowed to hold it
When you send us an enquiry we rely on legitimate interests: you asked us a question and we need your details to answer it. If we go on to work together, we rely on performance of a contract instead.
Our server logs also rely on legitimate interests, which is keeping the site available and secure.
You can object to either at any time by emailing us.
Who else sees it
Three kinds of service are involved in running this site. None of them is sent anything about you beyond what is described here, and none of them is paid to profile you. We will name any of them on request.
- A form delivery service
- Takes what you typed and delivers it to our inbox. It is the only route a form takes.
- An anti-spam check
- Confirms a form was filled in by a person and not a script. It receives information about that interaction and sets cookies to do it. Without it the forms are filled by bots within days.
- A content delivery network
- Sits in front of the site to serve it quickly and absorb attacks. It sees the requests your browser makes, including your IP address.
Fonts, and the one thing they tell somebody
The typefaces on this site are served by two font providers rather than from our own server. Loading a font means your browser asks their server for a file, so they can see your IP address and the fact that a page on this site was opened. They are not told who you are, and nothing you type is involved.
Cookies and what is stored in your browser
This site sets no cookies of its own, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. The anti-spam check sets its own cookies on the pages that carry a form, which is the only cookie you will pick up here.
If you have ever opened the studio’s internal palette preview, a note of which palette you chose is kept in your own browser’s storage. It never leaves your browser, it is not sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries stay in our email for as long as the conversation could reasonably continue, and we clear out old ones we did not take further. If we work together, we keep what the work and our tax obligations require, which for records with a financial element is six years.
Server logs are kept for a short period and then overwritten.
What you can ask us to do
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, object to us holding it, or ask for it in a portable form. Email [email protected] and we will reply within one month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or call them on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Where your information goes
Our server is in the UK. The services above are run by companies outside the UK, so your information may be processed abroad under the safeguards their own terms set out.
Changes to this policy
If this changes we will update the date at the top. We do not keep an archive of earlier versions, so if a change matters to you, ask us and we will tell you what it was.
Questions about any of this go to [email protected], and we reply within one working day. You can also read the terms page or get in touch.
